2CV fuel indicator
The fuel indicator: The black plastic floater moves a sliding contact, which indicates the level using wound resistance wire. The resistance between the contacts moves between approx. 350 (empty) and 20 ohms (full).
This photo shows the condition EMPTY...

...and this one FULL.

2CV fuel indicator
Here you can sees the interior life consisting of the sliding contact and the resistance wire.
This fuel indicator works only at a few ducks (I therefore have always a jerry can with me). On the one hand the mechanics should be correct (the lever may not offend anywhere) and on the other hand the electrical resistances should be correct. In my case the resistance was much too high by oxidation of the contacts. My analyzer could not measure this already no more.

Therefore I soldered a flexble wire directly from the sliding contact to the cover (lightgreen). Now the measured values are correct again (let's see how long). Since the contacts on the outside corrode likewise easily, it cannot harm to treat these with some grease.

2CV tank
The handle over the tank. At this the tank is however not bolted.

2CV Tank
The plastic tank with a capacity of 25L. Four screws and eight oval plates fix the tank in it's position. Four oft the plates are made of iron (in the installed condition down) and four are from plastic (accordingly above). Four screws - two at the chassis and two at the rear axle keep the tank directly at the chassis. Before the assembly the fuel pipe must be postponed - I secured it additionally with a clip - and the contacts of the fuel indicator must be put in. Do not forget to screw the cable end of the mass contact to a fastening spot of the tank.

The tank regained its place.

2CV gasoline pump Tank
From the tank a transparent fuel pipe leads forward at the chassis. Before the engine compartment its crossing over to pressure and temperature-stable variant in black. The connection of the two lines takes place with the help of a small brass tube from suitable diameter. The whole construction is secured by a clip.
In the engine compartment the gasoline pump transfers the fuel. This is purely mechanically developed. A round bar (photo left down) is moved up and down by the cam shaft and presses fuel with the help of a black rubber to the engine. Two flutter valves ensure that the gasoline leaves the pump with positive pressure toward the carburetor.
The function of the gasoline pump can be examined, by taking off the gasoline hose at the carburetor and turning the engine with the starter shortly. The gasoline must withdraw then in visible intervals (use jerry can, thus the valuable juice should not be lost).

Do not forget the plastic spacer piece with the installation of the gasoline pump.
