The date-line for the TÜV inspection was saturday, the 20st of November at 11:00. Marcos came with me to Wuppertal. The first remark when we entered the motorway: The motor is running fine and it seems that it is pulling number 2 slightly faster forward than my number 1. Second remark: The ventilation at the cabin is really strong. Caused by the Bernoulli effect, the roof was blown up and more fresh air than expected entered the cabin. I guess I will have to add some more fastening points.
Near Wuppertal there was a traffic jam and we decided to leave the highway. We used the satnav to find our way. "You have reached your target" said the woman of the satnav, but there was no TÜV to see and I did not recognize the area - after all I had visited the meeting "TÜV meets 2CV" twice before. The reason was a wrong target address: I had told Marcos to enter "Am Rautenkamp" instead of "Am Raukamp". Unfortunately the wrong address exists in Wuppertal, too... We came to the TÜV area with a delay of one hour. Anke and Mike were already waiting there with their AK. Four 2CV drivers should be enough to do the necessary convincing. 2CV TÜV inspection of number 2

The AK of Anke and Mike was inspected (successfully) half a year before and looks great. My second picture was also my last one. I had completely forgotten to make some more pics, because of the thrilling inspection procedure, but my reporters in Wuppertal clicked more often - thanks!

The first positive remarks of mister Zenterra about the conversion project took parts of my stress away.

The breakes - yes they did not operate as they should...
Result of the inspection: Failed!
Dimmed headlight and high beam light too high (Could have been corrected by the headlight range adjustment)
Stoplights without function (I replaced the broken fuse, so this item was crossed out from the report)
Mechanism to avoid unauthorized use without functionallity, but not affecting the operation of the steering (I had already noticed, that the device of the steering wheel lock was still at the bottom of the steering column instead of the place it belongs to...)
Oil loss at the motor (After adjusting the valve clearence I screwed the caps of the valve heads just slightly, to avoid damage. After the test drive I had forgotten to inspect them once more and to tighten the caps some stronger)
Until now I would have started to discuss the result of the report (we were four 2CV drivers), buuuuut: The rear breakes did not operate as they should. I did not have a look at them before the journey to Wuppertal, because I had used the brake pads for number 1 one week before. I hoped, that the rear brakes of number 2 would be all right, but that was't true. Imperfect breakes are definitely no subject of discussions and reinspection became inevitable.
The most important thing: All modifications of the bodywork were accepted and recorded to the vehicle registration certificate - I was relieved!
At 15:30 the longest TÜV inspection of my tinkerer career ended for the present. The costs of the certification process were 391,-€. Time and effort were considerably higher than during a normal inspection.

The rotten tooth: The rear brake cylinder at the driver's side was sized up at one side, so just one of the breake pads was actuated. I should not wonder about that considering the bad condition of number 2 before the conversion process. A typical beginner's mistake not to inspect the rear brakes...

With the help of new braking cylinders, the rear brakes will operate much better. Thanks to Markus from "Entenkult" in Mainz who supported me with the accordant spare parts (you can find his hompage at the column links).

Up with the forelegs and adjusting the handbrakes once more (it was operating too weak at the drivers side, according to the report).
